Thai Shrimp Toast -Cook with me (1)-
Do you think certain foods/dishes have the power to bring back memories?
Today, I would like to share a dish that is very memorable to me.
I made a dish called ขนมปังหน้าหมูกุ้ง(Kanom pang nhar mhuu goong)
which is a Thai shrimp toast.
🇹🇭🍤🍞
I decided to make it for my first recipe presentation
because I have a good memory of it.
Back in high school, my close friends had a party,
and one of my friends, who was a good cook made this one for us.
After taking the first bite, I was amazed. It was very good.
When you take a bite, you can smell the shrimp at the same time.
I like the crunchiness of the outside layer
and the fluffiness of the inside of the bread,
and the texture of the shrimp.
I know you are getting hungry...
Lemme go ahead and share my recipe so you can make it for yourself!
These are the ingredients!
When you take a look at this list, some of you might be like what's seasoning sauce?
When I first saw the recipe, I got confused too.
So let me explain what it is.
This is the seasoning sauce. I couldn't find it in regular supermarkets.
I found it in Kaldi in the Asian condiments section.
If you can not find it, or if you don't plan to buy it, there is another option.
The recipe that I used (the one that my friend shared with me) used seasoning sauce,
but when I searched for recipes for Thai shrimp toast,
there were many recipes that used fish sauce instead of the seasoning sauce,
so if you have it, you can easily find recipes using it.
Now, let's move on to the cooking process.
In this process, make sure you don't chop your shrimp too much.
You don't want to make them too smooth. You still want the texture.
Next add A (shrimp, meat, garlic, onion..etc(please check the ingredient section))
After you add everything in one bowl mix until it's sticky.
Make sure everything is well mixed.
Next, cut your bread.
You can cut in whatever size you like,
but make sure to cut it so it would be easier to flip when frying.
Then, spread the mixture evenly.
After that spread the egg yolk!
(You will have it since you only used egg white when making the mixture)
After heating the oil, make sure your mixture side will be cooked first.
I bought chili sauce because I thought it would go well with this dish,
but it had enough saltiness, so I recommend you eat without it.
If you liked this recipe, please leave a comment!
Also, if you try making it, please comment below as well!
I would love to hear from you:)
Enjoy your meal!
